Abbott + Spence Street, Cairns CBD
At present of Abbott and Spence Streets are typical of many urban streetscapes that have been developed in a piecemeal fashion over time with an array of various pavement surfaces, street furniture and various plantings. This has created an unnecessary visual clutter of mostly degraded surfaces and furnishings that leaves a bad impression of the city for locals and visitors.
This proposed streetscape upgrade strategy is designed to be easily achieved either when a whole city blocks are refurbished or to be installed by individual developers as buildings are refurbished.
