The Firm has a range of experience in World Heritage Areas ranging from the preparation of a Design Guide for the Queensland Wet Tropics World Heritage Area to the co-authorship of ‘Australia’s Cultural Estate’, a handbook for the Commonwealth Government on the assessment and selection of cultural sites for nomination to the World Heritage List.
Peter was advisor to both the Commonwealth Government and the Wet Tropics Management Authority on the preparation of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area Legislation and has also advised the Tasmanian Government on issues relating to the South West Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. He was also responsible for the initial concept of an Australian Serial Site nomination to the World Heritage List of Convict sites in Australia.
The Firm also carried out an Inventory for the Northern area of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
In addition Peter advised the Philippine Government on the nomination of the historic old Spanish town of Vigan to the World Heritage List and is presently working on legislation for the Fiji Government to enable it to nominate the early Colonial capital of Fiji, Levuka to the World Heritage List.
